} TORRRRRR!!!

the germany-sweden match yesterday was quite exciting... it seems that whenever germany plays, you cant even miss the first five minutes of the game. both goals in yesterday's game were scored in the first 15 mins and the first in the 4th minute.

it was a very fast-paced game, especially in the first half hour or so. germany just kept passing smoothly to one another and they always seem to be on the attack. sweden just couldnt keep up. it seems that germany's tactics involve getting goals early before the opponents' defence get warmed up...

after a certain point in the game though, germany's pace seemed to slow down a bit, with mostly ballack's futile attempts at another goal.. sweden's defence just kept getting stronger, and their goalie actually isnt bad at all, which only proves that germany were very smart to have played a strong offensive position from early on, which awarded them 2 goals.

the 2nd half, really, was a sleepfest. my only disappointment with germany was that they seemed to 'fall back' a bit after they knew they had secured their win, and when sweden's lucic was sent off. it looked to me as though they were getting a bit too confident. maybe since their win was pretty much secured, they just wanted to save their energy for future matches... lol i have no idea. i'd rather give them the benefit of the doubt though. this team is probably the strongest side germany has had in years, and it would be a pity if they should lose because of overconfidence.

i especially like watching the podolski-klose duo play... they're almost like brothers, haha, play so well together like they've worked together since they were kids. just add oliver kahn and germany would be my favourite team .. next to england of course. :P

speaking of which... the england-ecuador match is tonight! i just realised its at 11pm and not 3am. but still.. i cant watch it.. or i will show up at GP exam tomorrow with eyebags and nothing but football in my head. haha. :( i really hope for the best for england!

predictions/hopes for quarter-finals:
