I LOVE THE ADIDAS WORLD CUP ADVERT. the one with the 2 boys. ahahaha. today i was studying at macs with novita and the advert appeared about 2983479324872834 times on the tv and i watched it every single one of those times cos its just SO CUTE HAHA. OLIVER KAHN AT THE LAST PART OMG HAHAHAHAHAHA.

< /insanity >

and btw the reason behind adidas' excessive marketing is to GAIN MARKET SHARE. by advertising their product more, especially making use of such a popular international event, they are making their products MORE PRICE INELASTIC so that they can charge RIDICULOUSLY HIGH PRICES and demand will fall proportionally much less than the increase in price (ie., people will still buy). OH YEAH I TOTALLY KNOW MY ECONS STUFF HAH

of course this doesnt change the fact that im still gonna fail my econs common test hahaha cos i cant write essays for nuts. T_T

anyway my ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THE DAY is completing my physics tys june holidays assignment! yay! :D i think thats just about all the physics last-min revision i can squeeze in this week, i really have to spend more time on chem and (the subject i have been neglecting the most) maths. i have been studying econs while watching football matches, not sure if that counts haha, but at least i try... `_`

during today's match i should be able to finish reading on theory of firms... then its just a matter of the memorising part on sunday before the dreaded exam day. :/ tomorrow i will have to focus more on maths and chem...

one big worry for me at the moment is the england-ecuador match.. it will take place in the (very early) morning of my first paper (GP and econs) so i will definitely have to miss it. i really hope it wont affect my performance during the exams that day.. cos if i dont get to see the results before i go to school, i might die of worry, but if i do check the results and its BAD, then i WILL die.. emotionally... D:

sigh.

anyway so today i will once again (try to) wake up at 3am to catch the korea-switzerland match. I REALLY WANT KOREA TO TRASH THE SWISS. :| GO KOREA!!! GO SHOW THEM YOUR 2002-SEMIFINALIST MIGHT!!!!!!

yup so once again i will be going to sleep soon. :/ will update with (useless) comments on the match probably later in the morning like what i did with the japan-brazil match (refer to prev entry). meanwhile, predictions/hopes for round of 16: (+ means already confirmed, strike-off means i got it wrong)

[edit] korea vs switzerland
OMG BLOODY SWITZERLAND !!!^@%#&@#&*@*!^#&!^$&^*@&@$@#

why korea lost? i think it was just a lack of luck, (there were SO mnay great shots on goal) maybe over confidence in the first half, after being able to draw with france, and then lack of coordination in the second half, probably cos the players were getting more and more frustrated... but lack of skill? i dont think so. i think korea is the more talented team and they deserved to go to round of 16 more. but they were unlucky yesterday... argh.

another thing is that the koreans played a very rough game.. thus leading to a lot of fouls and yellow cards. in fact the first goal they conceded was through a free kick due to a foul, but after that they didnt really learn their lesson and didnt play a cleaner game. i dont think its all the players' fault though, for some reason for this world cup, the referees have been blowing their whistle way too much... sometimes even when the 2 players just happen to have bumped into each other... its kind of ridiculous, but i guess i understand their intention of being stricter with foul play. but. still. argh. i wasnt happy with the referees at all for this match, especially with the case of the 2nd goal...

i mean for the 2nd goal... can someone please explain to me why its not offside? one assist referee already RAISED HIS FRIGGIN FLAG and even when the koreans went to clarify with the main referee he still stuck by his decision. i just dont get it. does the referee have some swiss parentage or something? lol i dunno. or maybe he was scared of getting beaten up by the swiss fans if he went 'oops sorry boys, i was wrong, that was offside' after he let switzerland celebrate for securing their win. bah either way its very vague and i hope they will clarify it..

anyway now that both asian teams are out, i am slowly running out of teams to support... o_o i really hope for the best for england. owen's injury is really unlucky... but i really hope england will be able to overome the odds and play well no matter what.
