} a dull cny

i just finished Curse of the Spellmans, yet another book that i borrowed without my sister's permission. i always wonder if she actually knows that i'm reading her books when she's not around. sometimes i think she doesn't, because i'm quite careful and smart about it. but sometimes i think she does because she's probably smarter than me. i duno.

why do i not ask her straight out when borrowing her books? that's what i did when i was young. she thinks that i mutilate every book i touch - and i kind of do, actually, sometimes - and only allowed me to open her book a few cm wide when reading. now that i am Older and Wiser i've decided to just read when she's not around.

anyway Curse of the Spellmans is considered chick-lit i think, but less on the romance side which is kinda refreshing. it focuses more on the female protagonist and her character flaws and generally interesting side characters. like Persuasion, which I also finished recently, it sort of teaches me that it is not only your personality/character that determines whether people will like you, but also your actions. sometimes if you clean up your act people will like you more than before. but i dont think people like me if i stay in this sluggish state. when im like this i feel like a drunken middle-aged man and a detoxification is in order.

i'm attempting to learn this (beautiful) song:
