time should be allowed to stop when one is reading a book. especially when one is someone like me who completely lacks any discipline to put down a book. :(

the book i read is a chick-lit by Robyn Sisman called 'Just Friends' (another one i 'borrowed' from my sister's collection/mini-library of books)... the title, cover and blurb are pretty cliche enough to throw one off, but considering that 90% of the books is NOT devoted to the main characters' shenanigans in bed, i was very pleasantly surprised. it's predictable as all chick-lits are but also well-thought-out and...realistic. the characters are fleshed out. they have their annoying flaws but somehow you love and relate to them. and most of all the writing is intelligent. jokes are actually funny and caustic remarks are actually caustic.

i dont think i can read another chick-lit now that i've read one which is, actually, not banal. which is good i guess since i dont think i have many more afternoons to spend like this!
