} pianoman

when schezn first told me about pianofest last year i was all (to be honest), gehhhh (i have not had the best relationship with piano or classical music in general). but this year i decided to have a more open mind and check out the programmes... strangely enough i was gravitated for some reason towards one particular pianist/programme, which is what i watched tonight!

Yevgeny Sudbin, 28 jun 2009, victoria concert hall

strangely enough my gut feeling was RIGHT. it was my first 'proper' classical music concert (the other ones i've been to are school ensembles and my brother's recitals, that kind of thing) and the songs he chose and his playing actually...moved me. i still dont think i am a big fan of classical music, but maybe its not that i hate it, maybe it's just that im not very easily moved by it. so today was a first. his Haydn was very beautiful i think i TEARED (what the HELL). also liked Prokofiev, so much so that i wish i had a recording of tonight's concert.

also i had a feeling he would be good-looking and...he really is. :x
(the photo above does not do him justice)
(i was too embarrassed to ask for a photo because i didnt really want a photo WITH him, just a photo OF him ...)

(but i got his signature :D)

so THANK YOU schezn for telling me about pianofest.

other notable things about today include spending time with my brother through Mariokart HAHA. come to think of it it was probably the perfect time to spend time with him since today is his last day of school holidays. i am such a great sibling pls. (haha right)
