} hong kong

hong kong tomorrow/today! and its already 2009. how time flies. :/

i did something for the blog, but have yet to upload it, although i hoped to do it before hong kong. there were actually a lot of things i hoped to do before hong kong.

i wanted to cut my hair. (after a whole year of not cutting! i am like a caveman.)

i wanted to paint my sneakers.

i wanted to do spring cleaning.

i wanted to start on phase 2.

but on the other hand there is something i like about leaving some loose ends untied, not making 2009 so totally brand new. it makes the transition a little easier. if theres any particularly bad habit ive developed, its this fear/inability to look forward to things, and i find the excitement/anxiety before the new year completely unnecessary.

still working out if this is a bad or good thing, because on one hand i may have acquired a zen-like ability to not demand so much from people/things but on the other hand i may have become emotionally dead inside. :|

the hong kong trip is also helping a lot, i think, because its forcing me to start the new year with some action. sometimes i think new years are like new notebooks, or new haircuts, or a blank canvas - i only want to take little tiny baby steps because im afraid i'd spoil this pretty new thing.

hopefully, it will be just the thing to break into these new shoes.

happy new year!
