} finally

of all the US election news coverage thus far, notwithstanding the announcement itself, i think this report has touched me the most:

http://news.id.msn.com/article.aspx?cp-documentid=1770811

for obvious reasons, but also because: the very idea of a US president who has such a far-reaching personal effect on primary school kids literally on the other side of the world? in a developing country which isn't in america's best books? just..amazing, how much his simple message of hope has touched so many people around the world.

its like in law school, really.. everyone scoffs at the idea of 'justice' because everyone used to believe in it, until they entered law school and then they get scoffed at, so they stop believing in it. but i, for one, still want to believe in the pureness of ideals, rather than be blinded by cynicism and disillusionment.

thank God for Obama, for teaching people how to hope again, and i just pray that all this hope won't be for nothing.

congrats, skinny guy with a weird name.
