} happy belated father's day

camp was ok, although i still couldnt really step out of my comfort zone. but i'll keep trying, and i've grown tired of thinking about myself, so this post is about something else.

i checked my email just now and saw a new one from my dad. he had sent me his script for his graduation speech to help him vet through it. and as i read through it, and thought of what he's accomplished, i couldnt help wanting to cry.

my dad, in his late forties, had decided to do what most people (i think) would find difficult - go back to school with a bunch of students almost half his age. when i read his speech i guess i only just realised the challenges he must have faced. now he is graduating as the top of the class, and yet his words are just as simple, earnest and humble as ever.

in this age where people seem to prefer the young, the dynamic and flowery words, im glad i have my dad. he's a man of effort, hard work and no excuses. and while he's a big fan of inspirational stories and figures, i think he himself is one.
