} the tragedy (edit: cool thing)

about 5 minutes ago, i read zong's blog, and the first entry was on the Virginia Tech killer. that made me think, because ever since I learned of his reasons for the massacre, i thought i could sympathise with him. up to 5 minutes ago i felt quite scared cos somehow i could sympathise with him, and at least once i've contemplated if i could be crazy enough to become a killer too. because i can sort of understand his feelings of loneliness, awkwardness, even if i've never been bullied to such a great extent. but i know how it feels to be too scared to speak up for yourself, to feel left out and alone and weak at times.

that was 5 minutes ago.

and THEN, i watched the youtube video of the tape that the killer sent to NBC.

(these are longer versions that i just found..watch at own discretion.)

to cut things short, i felt disgusted. any ounce of pity that i could have felt was gone, especially when he freely compared himself to Jesus Christ. how can he justify his actions by comparing himself to a figure who literally saved people, loved them unconditionally, not blow them all to bits? how does killing help the 'weak and defenceless'? what makes unarmed students weaker and more defenceless than him, the one with the guns and the bullets?

how could anyone be so disillusioned?

the more i read about it the more it doesnt make sense at all. it just seems like he wanted so badly to go to hell, and his dying wish was to drag as many people along with him as he could.

its horrible.
