i was so grumpy for almost the whole day, but suddenly cheered up after my h3 lesson. haha. my mood has been swinging very dangerously.. good days end horribly, bad days end up good. bahh.

anyway, both gp class and going to mass sort of reminded me that everyone has a human side to them. we watched a movie called Dead Man Walking during gp. its about capital punishment, where a cold-blooded murderer was given death sentence by lethal injection. its supposed to make people question capital punishment i guess, but i havent really decided whats my stand on this. i think im probably still for capital punishment, cos after all a movie is just a movie, and part of why the murderer in the movie was easier to sympathise with was probably cos sean penn is more good-looking than your average real-life murderer. =|

i think capital punishment is more important not as a punishment in itself, but more of a strong deterrent. can you imagine what would happen if murderers only get life imprisonment and/or counselling? that would probably make murder in cold blood much easier to do. and its true that murderers might feel the guilt of their actions in the end, but (as dark as it sounds) what if that only happens when they know that they're about to die? the impact might not be so great if they were simply facing the rest of their life in prison, and they may not even repent at all.

but capital punishment must be handed out only in very serious cases, i think things have to be handled on a case-by-case basis. some people kill in self-defence, some kill out of revenge, or for something they believe is right. what is completely untolerable and incomprehensible to me is murder for the sake of murder. just like that, in cold blood. i think thats the sort of thing that really deserves a death penalty.

ok, anyway. went to mass today too, although i wasnt planning to initially. haha. oops. but in the end i went with astrid, and i dont regret it at all. going to mass always leaves me with a somewhat calm and satisfied feeling. =)

btw on our way back from the church, we encountered the BUS DRIVER FROM HELL, i swear. he started zooming through the road before anyone got to their seats, and i think i probably nearly knocked out a woman with my guitar cos i really couldnt keep my balance. -_- stupid guy. he was probably just trying to finish his shift quickly, wth. and his turns! they're like a roller coaster ride, i think even i can do left turns better than him. sheesh.

speaking of HELL, i probably deserve to go there, cos of something that happened as i was walking home from the bus stop. i saw a girl and a guy together, and my first thought was, aiyo whats this girl doing holding hands with this ugly guy... but THEN the girl called my name and i realised

OMG! ITS MY SISTER

..so, yeah. i couldnt recognise my own sister. after that i was just too shocked so all i could manage was 'EH?'. and she must have thought that i was expressing surprise at the guy beside her, cos later on she called me to make sure i wouldnt tell my mum about ahem ahem. -_- little did she know that if she had just passed by me i wouldnt have recognised her at all... =|
