} a place is a space with emotional attachment (I)

ah my right thumb feels stiff and i feel like i need to crack it but i cant. am i getting TRIGGER FINGERS (scarier version of parkinson's on fingers)????

ok anyway yesterday we had our syf rehearsal at the singapore conference hall... strange, i never heard of the place before but i've actually been there before. cant remember what for though. the rehearsal on stage was very stressful, especially towards the end of our 1h 15mins and it seemed like everyone was so aware of the little time left that we played faster and faster. haha. hmmm.

but when we sat down on the floor outside, near the entrance, and practised together there, i thought we sounded best then. especially for bridge! im glad that the interpretation thing is finally settled. =) unfortunately i didnt have a OMG-I-FINALLY-REALISE-WHAT-IT-MEANS 'revelation' moment, i guess im too emo not to realise the meaning sooner. =x but um nvm before i start sounding like a smart aleck.

the translations for the jap words on the four seasons score is really cool. =) they sound really poetic and a bit engrish, but they seem to fit the song perfectly hehe. =D whenever i play four seasons i think of the Disney movie Bambi. the part where it was spring and all the animals in the forest were singing and annoying the poor owl. hehe. i always liked that part of the movie. =D

ok anyway, yeah. basically when we all had the same understanding for the song, it was easier to get the MOOD. im not sure if we achieved that for 4 seasons yet, but im pretty sure we more or less got it down for bridge. =) one of the times we practised, i actually could really feel the song, and it wasnt something intangible anymore. it was like a wind, and it was rippling through us, coming from us but enveloping us also, echoing in every corner of the hall. that felt very very nice. and sounded nice too. there was no rushing even though there was no proper conducting, because we were singing, not plucking, and no one likes to rush when they're singing.

but when we went to the stage it was ..chaos. oops. we really have to work on relaxing on stage.

ok enough about syf!

-------------------------------------

near my house there is a train track. like a real train, not MRT. it goes to JB and KL.. and next to that train track, there is a road... it's actually just a path and its not hidden or anything, but i never went up that path before. so today, on my way home from denise's house, i decided to explore it.

and im really happy that i decided to do it. its so weird, the path is actually so close to the main road, to all the cars and condos and KAP haha, but it felt so strangely secluded and incongruent. it actually reminds me of my hometown, with the uneven asphalt on the road, puddles of muddy water, unkempt plants and electric wires that hang high up, supported by electric poles, rather than buried underground like most electrical cables in s'pore. in fact there was one very long BRANCH which someone must have stuck into the ground, supporting the cable. well actually it would have looked like jakarta more if there was 1)more litter on the ground, 2)more people, cars and motorcycles jamming up the whole road and 3)small shops and houses lining the sides of the road. but i digress. basically, it was a really nice path, almost scenic even, with the train tracks and a small train station.

the train station! it was so small and and cosy. there was no one in it, because a train just left (i saw it up close! =D). it was SO WEIRD seeing this place, it was hard to believe that it exists in singapore. it was weird in a good way though, like i just found some kind of a secret place.

i was about to go further, but then a guy came out of the station and stopped me cos there seemed to be some construction going on.at first he asked me what i was doing, and i was unsure how to answer cos i was just looking around, which would sound really weird, cos it wasnt like i was in some tourist attraction or something. but in the end i just answered 'i'm just...' and made an awkward gesture of walking.. but he didnt ask anymore and just told me not to go further. so that was a bit of a relief.

one day i want to ride in a real train. a real real old-fashioned kind of train, like this one, except maybe not this one cos i cant think of a reason why i would want to go to JB/KL haha. but it would be really nice if it was in some countryside someplace in japan or europe or china or something. =D or like the HOGWARTS train! haha.
