} sick + some jumbled thoughts on syf

a brief, non-emo, non-exaggerated-i-feel-like-dying account

i woke up.
i had a sore throat.
i went to school.
sore throat got worse.
felt feverish after econs lecture. (econs is bad for health! haha)
somehow struggled through physics SPA.
went home and skipped guitar, aft realising that if i speak any louder than a vague mumble, my throat felt like it was being stabbed (no this is not an exaggeration at all) (then again, i was a lit student...).

well im somewhat better now, after taking medicine and 5 hours of bed rest. although i kind of hate this 'stage' of being sick cos im hovering somewhere between getting well and getting worse and i never ever know whether to get back to work or wallow in bed all day.

anyway, the thought of syf has been troubling me.

first of all, the instructor gave us ratios for the diff sections and the total number only adds up to 34, when the total number of people allowed for guitar syf is 50. i dont understand why we cant allow more to get in, cos i've recently found out that we have 52 people auditioning for 34 spots. and out of those 18 who will not get in, i believe many of them would be J2s who have worked their arses off in guit ensemble since last year (or, even if they've been slacking, at least they've been giving us their commitment). while at least a significant percentage of those IN the syf team, i think, would be formed by experienced players who never even turned up for guitar before and just wants an syf participation in their portfolio.

i think this is really unfair.

secondly i dont feel that we are prepared for syf at all. i mean, i guess its obvious, since its january and syf is in april, it would be quite extraordinary if we are already prepared for it. but i think we are moving too slowly towards being prepared for it, but i also think it would be hard to move any faster.

i dunno really. but when im in bed, with a sore throat, and feeling sort of pessimistic, (i.e., like now) i do feel that the Gold may be fading away from our grasp.
