so with that, we can now watch all the world cup matches. :D BUT im also quite irritated at myself for having succumbed to starhub's evil ploy to monopolise the market.

anyway im going to sleep soon so i can catch the brazil-japan match later. :) so i'll blog about my trip back to indo uhh next time. :D btw italy will win. so i wont waste my time watching the match. :/ i think it will be 2-1 to italy. lol i dunno.

[edit] italy vs czech republic: 2-0 to italy. aww damn. i nearly got it right though. just had too much faith in the czechs ahah. :D

[edit] brazil vs japan.
yup i woke up at 3am to watch the match ahahaha. the first half was worth it. it was quite exciting and interesting especially since japan scored the first goal. when tamada scored i (along with the rest of the world) had a few split-seconds lag time before erupting into (silent, so as not to wake up my whole family) screams of joy. it was just unexpected... kawaguchi also made very excellent saves..

at that point i really believed maybe a miracle could take place and japan could win.. i could even imagine the next day's headlines: 'THE AGE OF MIRACLES: JAPAN 1, BRAZIL 0'. hahaha. i even went so far as to imagine adidas' next advert, with one of the 2 boys calling out 'nakamura'...

...if only they held their defence together. i guess they were caught a bit unawares during the 1 min extra time. i mean, who would expect your opponent to score in 1 bloody minute???!?! but ronaldo could do it and he did. after the equaliser the match just became more and more predictable, so it wasnt much fun to watch anymore.

i think the equaliser was the key to winning the match. if brazil hadnt scored that goal, if they had even scored it in the second half, maybe japan's spirits wouldnt have been so easily shaken. and they would have performed better in the 2nd half. they could have maintained a tie then, or even a not-so-shameful loss. x__x its as though before that equaliser, the team had full confidence of being able to win, but after that the confidence just slipped away... quoth zico: "If we had not conceded just before half-time, it would have been a different second half. Instead they came out full of confidence. Our passing wasn't the best, perhaps because we were too anxious."

but i think japan played much better today compared to their match against croatia. if they had played like they did during the first half today, im sure they could have beaten croatia. i also think japan is actually better than australia, but they were caught off-guard during the last 8 mins. i mean, 3 goals in 8 mins?? i think thats all just down to a lot of luck, and your opponents' lack of confidence.

so i really hope japan will pull their act together for the next world cup, cos their team does have excellent players and an excellent goalie to rival oliver kahn. but they need to work more seamlessly and as a team.

and as a last word as japan bows out of the competition... who was it who forced the brazilians to perform their best? everyone knows they've been disappointing up till now. it wasnt the croatians, it wasnt any bloody socceroos (sorry, im a bit irritated at the aussies), no it was japan. so yay for japan, and hope to see them again in 4 years.

up next, switzerland vs korea! i dont have a good impression of the swiss team so far, and would love to see korea give them a trashing... mwahaha. >D
