} string theory + blargh

i was too lazy to blog over the weekend so now i will blog about STRING THEORY: nj guitar ensemble concert last friday night. :)

the concert was...well... short. we had the intermission at around 7pm?? haha. i guess we are all very efficient people. :P and it MIGHT have something to do with the fact that we were so nervous that we rushed on our songs.....

i played a few wrong notes (and one note out of beat), but it wasn't as bad as expected. the only negative feedback i've heard about the concert is that faith (the little girl in our 'over the rainbow' piece) looked scary. i guess she was nervous too haha.

and the sheep didn't fall apart. hooray for superglue! :)

now i will just like to thank some people.. firstly thank you to the BRUDDERS gloria, suhui, novita and anne marie for coming !! a big thank you also goes out to YVONNE for sitting with these maniacs and enduring their lameness. thanks for supporting string theory!

thank you also to janice, yajie, wenying, catrin, yingjie and yanjun for coming AND bringing flowers. that was really sweet.. :)) thanks for coming, i really mean it!!! also thank you to astrid, my mother and my godmother for coming to the concert as well!!!

i'm really very grateful because it's thanks to each and everyone of you guys that the LT was almost-full!! :)

i also have to thank savie, briana and denise who WANTED to come but weren't able to for one reason or another (ie., because of work, because i didnt let you SINCE YOU ARE HAVING EXAMS..)

thank you backstage people, ushers, emcee, PA people and DV people!! especially the guitar newcomers who had to do backstage... you can join in the performance next time! thanks for putting in all the hard work with the chairs, mics etc, with ms maureen ng breathing down your backs... hahaha.

thank you mr toh, and ms masnidah, you guys helped the junior ensemble make our pieces more interesting and, er, 'creamy'?? (ms masnidah's fave word, haha) thanks also to tina and vincent who helped us improve our dynamics etc. :)

thank you tina and jasmine for conducting during practices, rehearsals and (jasmine) finally the concert! must be tiring to wave your hands over and over again haha.

thank you to the senior ensemble for making the guitar concert worth coming to. HAHA.

thank you to the junior ensemble for putting up a good show! we really did our best. thanks for all the fun and laughter during practices. :)

and last but definitely not least! thanks to my fellow guitar 3 people who make guitar practices more interesting and fun! haha. from kian pang with his pro 'gimmicks', wan ting with her pop songs and yingxuan with her chinese songs... hahaha. really enjoyed performing with you all. thanks so much.

wow. that took 15 mins...

today was a pretty good day that i managed to mess up towards the end.. cos i had to do make-up mock SPA exam for chem. it was horrible. :( first i kept spilling my standard solution... so i had to do it all over again. by the second time i decided to 'dun care' and just go on with the rest of the titration which means my value will be super inaccurate.. sigh.

later on mr sito came in and watched me while i did my titration. wah lau. i was so nervous la, cos i wasnt used to being supervised like that while doing the whole practical. i kept doing wrong things like forgetting to rinse my beaker and not titrating drop by drop (my end volume was so big as a result) cos i was so gan cheong. blahhh. i think i will really need to get used to doing practical with someone watching or i will never pass my SPA. :(

thankfully mr sito was very nice about it... he even helped me with some of the procedures haha. i think he knew i was very nervous. oh well. i hope i will pass my mock SPA. :S

on a lighter note, i passed my maths test on the dot. although i have a huge suspicion that mr chew marked my script wrongly. (i felt so cheated after that.) will check with him when he goes through the answers..

and we had no guitar practice today, i guess so that our fingers can, um, recuperate after the intense practices last week. haha. which meant that i could go home earlier, although thanks to the make up mock SPA it was around 5.45 by the time i reached home... :| oh well. i will just look back on the catastrophic experience and laugh at myself.

now its time to do maths.. argh. supposed to pass up AP/GP tutorial and im only at basic mastery questions (havent reached the real tutorial qns yet)! what the?? :( sigh.
