} the space between heaven and hell known as earth

issue: marilyn manson is satanic.

it's one of those rumours... you listen to a marilyn manson song, and you'll need to be exorcised. sounds pretty scary doesnt it.

i'll just give my quick opinion on this.

first of all, following satan means ignoring God, ignoring God's love for us, and paying attention to the temptations of satan instead. so it should follow that doing anything which is against God's will is like following satan.

therefore:

not going to church is satanic.
not praying and communicating with God is satanic.
not loving your parents is satanic.
not loving your neighbours is satanic.
stealing something is satanic.
murdering someone is satanic.. well duh.
even telling a lie is satanic.

my point is, the thought of a satanic cult, a satanic band or satanic music is such a turn-off, compared to other forms of sin. like there's a rumour going around that marilyn manson took out his ribs so he can suck his cock.

the image is so erotic and disturbing in our minds that immediately we think: omg satanic. but we rarely pause to think that the everyday wrongs we do are also satanic, anyway.

for instance, it's less horrible to think about skipping the Sunday service, because it means you can sleep in, watch some TV, even catch up with schoolwork... because, hey, when you're a teenager studying in singapore the top priority is studies.

and if our society were so warped that sucking cock is a pleasant pastime everyone partakes in, then marilyn manson probably wouldnt seem half as satanic as he seems.

one, i believe in God, not satan. two, i dont listen to marilyn manson (cos its bad music anyway). three, i dont have a cock to suck.

so yes, marilyn manson IS satanic, but so is practically every wrong thing that we do. you can say that some sins are more serious than others, but in the end they're all sins, they're all wrong.

we think we're so modern, but we not only avoid 'sinful' things, we condemn them. arent we being just like the priests and the Pharisees of Jesus' time?

it's difficult to share your love and faith if you're always trying to draw the line between good and evil, heaven and hell. and now that we're so close to the subject of DOOMSDAY...

everyones worried about dying. i cant deny that im not, im scared to death.. of death. but somehow when i read the article i was unmoved. it felt just like reading some normal newspaper advertisement or something.

it's not because i think im holy and i have a place reserved in heaven's jacuzzi. i just think that.. it's not worth worrying about. life is already so complicated without having to worry about the AFTERlife as well... i can only think of doing my best for everyone's good and happiness, and if i fail, well, hope hell isn't too hot.

and anyway, i would be saving someone else a place in heaven. that shouldn't feel too bad.

-------

note: i am not evangelising. neither am i promoting marilyn manson. neither am i involved in any satanic cults.

note again: im well aware that my attitude is less than expected of a good christian. im well aware that im supposed to change. im well aware that im not doing anything about it. now stop telling me that im going to hell, cos i know already.
