} lotr exhibition ROCKS

had the IJ internal game today. not bad lah. our robot didn't work even though we worked so hard on it... but we won the best team spirit award! haiz. must do better in robot next time lah, can't keep winning in side events only.

got my report book today, and told mrs selvam about the port trip. she was ok about it, although she whacked me cos at first she thought i was going to port to see the euro cup. bahh. i wish lah! everyone is talking about it... there's so many advertisements about it... gahh i feel so bad. :(

then i went to buy lunch from macs.. walked to tp interchange with suhui & gloria. they went to long johns for lunch though. had to meet masty (pri sch friend) at jurong, so couldn't eat lunch with them.

THE LOTR EXHIBITION ROCKS!!! It was so cool ok. all the nice costumes and props and stuff. i laaarve the swords and armour.. so bootiful. a lot of artwork there too, lots of concept art by those fantabulous artists like john howe... and there were these tv things around the place where you can watch how they did their effects, made their props, etc. i like how they made the chain mail. 12 and a half million chains!! wow.

so we went around the whole place.. for about 3 hours. made sure we read everything, saw everything. or at least i did. i think poor masty was getting tired of it, but i kept pulling her along. :| then we watched the making of lord of the rings.. in this hall where last year's njrc was held.. there was a video playing on a screen at the stage. finally got to sit down after walking for 3 hours, phew. watched for about 1 hour, but the whole thing was too long, so we stopped watching halfway. got to see most of the design process though, how they designed the locations and architecture (sp?), it was damn cool.

then i INSISTED that we go one more round throughout the whole exhibition just to make sure we didn't miss anything... and to plaster the whole image in my mind so i won't ever forget it.

then we went to another exhibtion nearby, all about movie making. lots of cool blue screen effects, sound effects, etc. quite nice lah. kinda fun. but not as nice as the lotr. gahh if i have the $$ i would go again. :(

when we got out of the exhibition hall we went into the 'souvenir' shop.. selling all sorts of lotr merchandise. the nice things were all damn expensive, and the cheap ones really suck. there was this collection of paintings by alan lee, and there was only one left on the shelf...... really wanted to buy that but it cost friggin $45. wah lao. the stuff there was seriously overpriced. like, an authentic autograph of liv tyler cost bloody $230??? and she's not even that great. :|

so... went home empty-handed. on the plus side, i saved my $$. :))

so then i took a train back to newton, with masty. we talked a lot. about a lot of stuff. fun. the ride was long from jurong east to newton... so we talked. and talked. and talked.

seeing the lotr exhibition made me want to read the books & watch the movies again..... aaahhh. but i'm so sleepy now.. think i'll go sleep soon.. yawn yawn. nitey.
